1. "If it rains, we'll simply move all our activities indoors," said Paul Adler, coordinator for the Youth Summit being sponsored by Supervisor Federal Glover.
- The annual Youth Summit will be held at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, 8 a.m. To 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31. Forecasters indicate that rain will fall on the summit on that day.
2. "We have a plan B in case of inclement weather," said Glover. Registration and breakfast will move to the cafeteria and indoor quad in the main administration building.
- The theme of this year's summit "Ways to Prevent Bullying and Build Character." There will also be workshops on avoiding gangs, getting a job, handling your finances, building character and life skills.
- In addition, entertainment, improving dance skills, Pilates and other interactive workshops will be held.
- The summit is free and aimed at 6th grade through high school students.
3. "We want to provide a safe environment where kids can meet each other and enjoy learning some useful information that are not ordinarily taught in classrooms," said Glover, "that will help them make correct choices in their lives."
