SOME GREAT QUOTES -- Just because...(Update: 6/18/14)

Posted:  18 Jun 14

1.  Before signing off last night (or I should say, this morning):

I was enjoying some very clever YouTube videos of comedians and philosophers (interesting combination, that).

One thing led to another and I chanced upon this wondrous saying:

"When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.”

Wow!  Who said that?  Google to the rescue.  It was Dr. Wayne Dyer

Why am I not surprised?

Anyhow, thirsting for more, I quickly found this site -- enjoyed it, immensely -- and thought I'd pass it along to you -- just in case.

And, if you desire even more of Dr. Dyer, there is this (click here).

2.  Later this morning, I found these, by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

"I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me."

*******

""It is not the length of life, but the depth."

*******

"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen."

*******

"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm."

*******

"You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late."

*******

"The only way to have a friend is to be one."

*******

AND THIS (Also by Emerson):

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

[I always say, "a clean slate," each day, preserves and enhances the precious life-force -- and helps disappointment in self and others to evaporate out of the way. In other words, forgive, liberally. Keep a big eraser inside and handy. Make room for the new. -- D. Nelson]

AND, YET MORE MAGNIFICENT EMERSON

"Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood."

[This resonates.  I'm certainly not great, but often misunderstood.  So be it.  Greatness can (and will) do as it pleases -- a clear conscience is sufficient. -- D. Nelson]
