Seafood Festival is Just Around the Corner
Posted Date: 8/30/2011

Come join us for the Pittsburg Seafood Festival.  Mark your calendar now and join the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce as they host Contra Costa County's largest two-day family event.

The Pittsburg Seafood Festival, now in its 27th year, returns to town Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th. The Pittsburg Seafood Festival has long been one of the keystone events in Contra Costa County; last year, over 60,000 people attended. Guests are invited to experience beautiful Old Town Pittsburg as the Seafood Festival returns once again to Railroad Avenue. The Pittsburg Seafood Festival provides a safe and enjoyable environment for the whole family at a reasonable cost.

The event will be kicked off on Friday, September 9th by the 15th Annual California Zinfandel Championship Dinner. In 1997, the California Zinfandel Championship added a whole new flavor to the Festival with an elegant, yet casual approach. It is held on the beautiful new Downtown Plaza under a breathtaking tent and twilight of the stars, near the cool breeze of the Delta. A very special menu of seafood is selected and served to over 300 attendees who are entertained by the evening's emcee and live music.

The following morning, Railroad Ave. opens its gates to a whole lot of family fun from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. The festivities include an arts 'n craft exposition with over 150 booths, 4 stages of live entertainment, the finals of the "Delta's Got Talent" competition, kids' playland, a beer and wine pavilion, Best Buy & Comcast sports pavilion, and more than 40 seafood vendors. The Pittsburg Seafood Festival offers an array of dining options sure to please every taste.

"Don't forget to stop by the other shops and restaurants in Old Town while you're enjoying the festivities of the Seafood Festival," says Meredith Ladich, the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce CEO. "Visit Old Town, quickly becoming East County's center of arts, entertainment and fun!"

The Pittsburg Seafood Festival began in September 1984 in the historic New York Landing District. The Festival is now held on Railroad Ave over a two-day period. Free shuttles will be running from the Pittsburg BART station and the Pittsburg Unified School District parking lot on Loveridge Road.
