PCT Laughter on the 23rd Floor
Performances In May
Posted Date: 5/2/2012
Pittsburg Community Theatre's final production of their 2011-2012 Season, the comedy, "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" is scheduled for six performances in May.
Directed by Suzan Lorainne, the play is Neil Simon's homage to the glory days of television. The characters in the play are based on Simon's co-writers on Your Show Of Shows. Simon's alter-ego Lucas Brickman, maintains a running commentary on the writing, fighting, and wacky antics which take place in the writers' room. At the plot's core is Max's ongoing battles with NBC executives who fear his humor is too sophisticated for Middle America.
The cast for this production comes from across the county: Lucas (based on Neil Simon) is played by Ken Sollazzo; Max (based on Sid Ceasar/Jackie Gleason) is played by Kevin Burns; Max (based on Mel Tolkin) is played by Bill Chessman; Brian (based on Michael Stewart) is played by Wayne Steffen; Milt (based on Carl Reiner) is played by Wayne McRice; Carol (based on Selma Diamond) is played by Natalie Rapp; Ira (based on Mel Brooks) is played by George Doerr; Kenny (based on Larry Gelbart) is played by Mark Holobetz; and Helen (a fictional character) is played by Jacklyn Foster.
Performances are scheduled at the Impulse Technology Building, 329 Railroad Avenue in Pittsburg, across the street from the New Mecca Restaurant. Come prepared for an afternoon/evening of laughter. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and children.
