0n Tuesday, August 7, 2012, the City will be hosting "National Night Out," in Small World Park, beginning at 5:00pm. Goodies provided of course. No charge for a great summer night.
This has a lot to do with spreading the vital Neighborhood Watch concept into the neighborhoods -- PLUS A WHOLE LOT MORE. The City will be publishing further details soon, but this is advance word for you.
BACKGROUND
Each August, the City has held "National Night Out" at our truly lovely Small World Park. It's a delightful time for all -- a big party -- a chance to meet and see and talk with our "first responders" (and one another) -- in a magnificent setting. It's one of those good, fun, and simple things we can do for ourselves and with those extraordinarily brave human beings (and their dogs) who serve us on the "front lines" of a hazardous world.
Here's what the national organization says on their website about this nation-wide event. Additional local information is expected, soon, and will be promptly posted here.
"National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation."

All toward an ever-safer, ever-happier, village-like City
... and, a much stronger Nation... very good things to have!
