MAYOR BEN JOHNSON Speaks About the Elections

Posted: 24 Oct 12

Dear Voters,

For the upcoming, very important City Council elections, I hope you will look around you and consider what has been achieved since I took office. And then, please remember this on election day.

Among other things:
  • We have balanced our budget annually
  • We used redevelopment funds wisely
  • In our downtown, we built striking new buildings and are refurbishing old ones
  • We built a lovely and popular new multi-use downtown plaza
  • New restaurants are springing up
  • We have a new brewery complex in place
  • We have built beautiful and abundant new housing
  • We modernized the 8th to 10th Street area
  • We have fresh new streets and sidewalks
  • We have pushed all electrical lines underground
  • We repaired the outdated water and sewer lines
  • We continue to remove graffiti instantly
  • We have maintained a strong police presence throughout the city -- without layoffs or furloughs.
  • As your City Council, we work well and hard, as a team, to accomplish all of these things and much more -- for the great good of our wonderful City and people.

If the changes you have seen over the last 8 years are positive in your eyes, I ask you to continue this progress by voting for me on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.  Your voice matters, big-time!!

Thank You,

Ben Johnson
Mayor
City of Pittsburg
