"Best Buy's" Pittsburg Store Slated for Closure May 12

End of An Era

Today's online edition of the Wall Street Journal reported The Best Buy Company's decision to close 50 of its 1100 stores, nationwide, as part of a retrenchment strategy -- responding to present economic conditions.  Most closures will occur on 12 May.  Seven of the 50 stores are in California -- including our Pittsburg store. [a sad loss]

Thanks to Dena Jordan for the timely "heads-up."

4/14/Sat -- I just dropped by the Pittsburg store - they're closed today, but workers were handing out flyer-coupons for $10 (off every $50, regular-priced purchase).  One per household.  They're good, on 5/13 (the day after their closure) till 6/2/12 -- at Brentwood, Pleasant Hill and Fairfield stores -- only.
